ACUA Solar Farm

CME personnel were involved in the design and construction monitoring phases of the Atlantic County Utilities Authority solar farm. This project site is underlain by granular fills overlying deep, soft deposits of compressible organic silts. The use of helical micro-piles, which provided the required uplift capacity at relatively shallow depths, resulted in a cost-effective support system for the ground-mounted arrays. Solar arrays were also installed on a steel structure covering the existing parking lot. The steel structure was supported on timber piles with lagging attached near the pile tips in order to provide additional uplift capacity. CME personnel monitored the installation of the pile foundation and provided pile cap reinforcing steel inspection services.
