The project culminates the successful multi-year challenge of Gregory Valesi to construct a Municipal marina within a former industrial site located in the Borough of Carteret.
With project permitting in place and site mediation complete, this project consisted of the construction of the marina as well as the upland improvements.
They constructed 184 slip marina consists of 8 floating concrete docks and finger piers. The docks along with a floating wave attenuator and steel sheet screen were designed and constructed to block or reduce waves and wakes created by the wind and ship traffic along the Arthur Kill.
Access from land is established through three access piers and the design included many marina appurtenances and safety features.
Upland improvements included the construction of a 187-stall parking area, stamped and color coated asphalt walks along with many other site amenities.
The project represents the latest phase of the ongoing Carteret Waterfront Improvement Project.
